Residents in the MGH/McLean training program have access to all the clinical, scientific and educational resources of Harvard Medical School.

Harvard Medical School

Harvard Medical School is one of the world’s preeminent institutions in medical education and research. The breadth and depth of its scientific and clinical disciplines are unsurpassed; it has nearly 8,000 faculty and 17 affiliated facilities. Residents have direct access to the Harvard Medical Education Center, the Countway Library of Medicine, and the Harvard School of Public Health, which are in the Longwood Medical Area.
I am currently the chief resident of the Acute Psychiatry Service (APS), which is located in the Emergency Department at MGH. The Emergency Department is a very exciting place to work – I like seeing all different types of patients in a very fast-paced setting. It’s never boring! As chief resident I have a supervisory and teaching role, working with both junior residents and Harvard medical students. In addition to working in the APS, I also spend time in the First Episode and Early Psychosis Program clinic. Both my research and clinical interests are in schizophrenia, and I’d like to continue this work after graduation from residency. Hannah Brown, Class of 2012
