The research faculty at Mass General Hospital, McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Harvard University, and other local universities and institutions are leading experts in all areas of psychiatry, psychology and neuroscience. They are discovering neural mechanisms of psychiatric disorders, advancing our understanding of mental illness, and pioneering innovating treatments and systems of care delivery that will revolutionize psychiatry in the 21st century. Here we highlight selected faculty from MGH and McLean, as well as other partnering institutions and departments whose faculty have mentored MGH/McLean residents.
The combined annual research budgets for the MGH Department of Psychiatry and the McLean Hospital are over $100 million. This represents a variety of federal grants, as well as private and industry supported grants. Our faculty are pursuing interdisciplinary collaborations across departments and institutions within the Harvard system, as well as partnerships with investigators across the country and around the world. They are thought leaders in the fields of basic science, clinic research, and translational neuroscience.
